Mucuna pruriens has long been used in Ayurvedic medicine for reducing body fat, decreasing cellulite and wrinkles, maintaining bone density, and increasing lean muscle mass. Mucuna is also known to promote a sense of well-being, increase energy levels, modulate blood lipids, improve adrenal and kidney health, strengthen the immune system, and provide plenty of L-Dopa – which may support the body's ability to produce health-giving hormones. Mucuna Pruriens Mucuna, also commonly known as velvet bean, is an amazing Ayurvedic herb that has been used for centuries in India and Africa and has carried into modern medicine due to its vast range of uses. In nature, the plant itself is a legume. This type of plant is notable for its ability to fix atmospheric nitrogen in the soil, allowing farmers to use them in a crop rotation with other crops that deplete nitrogen. These restorative properties reflect what makes mucuna medicinally revered, particularly for your brain and as a lover J. As a top superfood adaptogen it is also known to be helpful for restful sleep, anxiety relief, eliminating addictive drug cravings, increasing brain powder, calming the nerves and uplifting the mood. Mucuna is one of the most beneficial herbs for normalizing the Vata dosha. In other words, it is a great herb for calming the nervous system and deeply nourishes tissues and fluids of the body. It is one of the rare Ayurvedic herbs that actually balances all three doshas or body types Vata, Pitta and Kapha. In the Chinese herbal system, mucuna is acknowledged as a Yang and Jing herb, that helps to restore the kidney/adrenal systems, reproductive abilities, hearing and cognitive functions. Mucuna can improve fertility and support an orgasm? This awesome superfood is also a fertility booster and aids in improving fertility in both men and women. Hence, it has also been termed as an aphrodisiac food . Including this superfood in your diet may help raise the testosterone levels and sperm count in males; and in women it aids in regulating the ovulation cycles. Studies have shown that L-dopa aids in increasing the sexual interest and activity in men, and it also helps in their erections. It is also used in treating anorgasmia, a condition where the woman is unable to have an orgasm. Other health benefits of mucuna? Besides working as an incredible superfood that helps alleviate nervous system disorders, mucuna also works like an anti-hypoglycemic and anti-hypertensive agent. It may reduce the blood sugar and cholesterol levels that are responsible for fatal diseases. It stimulates muscle growth as well as aids in burning excess fat. Mucuna promotes adrenal and kidney health, and it also boosts the libido and sex drive in individuals. It is a natural anti-depressant and may also help in preventing the signs of ageing.

One of the two permanent waterfalls in world-famous Milford Sound, the Stirling Falls drops to a height of 146 metres and is fed by the glaciers just behind it.
The boat cruises take you right underneath it so prepared to get drenched by icy waters. Apparently, it also has anti-ageing qualities:-)
Have a beautiful day (or evening) my friends!
I'm off to Mongolia from Friday for 4 weeks so next post hopefully will be a landscape of this wonderful place:-)

Canada Cuts Rates for second time in 2015
Signs are that Canada entered a recession in the first half of 2015. Four straight months of GDP decline followed by a balooning trade deficit in the later half of the second quarter do not look good. Crashing oil prices have hurt economic data and projections.
(I was going to post this under 'ageing' because I got a few more grey hairs after seeing this)
Canada's central bank lowers its benchmark interest rate to 0.5 per cent from 0.75, the second time this year it has dropped the rate to stimulate the economy, after holding it steady for about four years.
