This project has been mainly designed to support CALD aging members. I have personally seen more than 15000 patients and their family's members from different cultural and linguistic background in my career, Whether Australian main stream or cultural specific community always concerned and had fear of aged care placement with institutional style service. They become highly anxious and depressed due to lack of cultural specific care needs of their choice. Any institution style care model has been perceived as captives of care model where difficult meet individual care needs. The CALD senior always experienced lack of care need of their cultural and beliefs. Mostly social and cultural isolation. As well as equity and access issues. The Cocoon Homes mainly designed to meet person centered care approach to suit the CALD appropriate aged care need. As per ABS estimated ABS report by 2020, 2.5 million CALD senior Citizen age 85 years old , which means, current Australian ageing population aged care placement representation ratio change from ( Main Stream : CALD) 5:1 increase to 1:2 . The significant shift of CALD background aging population would be difficult provide appropriate care need and suitable qualified and trained bilingual staff to cater such a significant CALD aging population., that number is expected to more than quadruple. Since we now have longer life-spans due to advance medical and health care treatment, living longer also increases medical and health maintenance cost and also required additional complex healthcare needs. The aged care sector has seen many changes and vast improvements over the years, but the industry remains unchallenged as an institution model. In the case of CALD specific aging group, it is important to cater for bilingual staff because most of the CALD seniors revert to our native languages or dialects and lose much of our English language skills as we age. Apart from linguistic needs, also need cultural specific understanding and better choice and control. The Australian Government initiatives towards the Consumer Direct Care (CDC) packages will fulfill the person centered care approach service. Cocoon innovation hybrid program designed to support CALD ageing population with a view that older people have cultural specific lifestyle choices. Cocoon Senior Home brings an alternative solution to CALD aging community something we all strive for. Since the Australian Government wants to ensure all Australians have equitable access to appropriate care, regardless of their background. Cocoon Senior Home planning to establish 10 senior group homes as a pilot project in 2015-2016. So that we could able to demonstrate as an alternative CALD aged care home as an option to aged care institutional model. Cocoon Senior Homes design to bring significant changes and the innovation brings solution focus and person centered care service and providing them with greater choice and control. The care model has focused on choice and control as well as supported by greater flexibility in the use of CDC package funding, For Consumers and Carers have greater control in decision-making and without compromising their cultural, belief and values. Each panel of the external deck and the interior dining deck on La Vue was bonded onto the fibreglass structure using Sikaflex-552 AT (approx 60 units), a high performance elastic, gap-filling, one-component, hybrid assembly adhesive. Also bonded with Sikaflex-552 AT, were the tabletops, wooden railings and most of the wooden features on board. Since time constraints were imposed on this project, Sikaflex-552 AT (fast curing on exposure to atmospheric humidity to form a durable elastomer) was specified. Based on Sika's silane-terminated polymer technology, Sikaflex-552 AT is solvent-free and isocyanate-free. It is capable of withstanding high dynamic stresses and is resistant to ageing and weathering making it the ideal product for this vessel. Prior to bonding, Sika Primer-3N (approximately 3 units), a one-component, epoxy-polyurethane, solvent-based primer, and Sika Primer-215 (approximately 12 units), a one-component, solvent-based polyurethane reactive primer, were applied. For various neatening and sealing of joints, seams and panels on board, Sikaflex-521 UV (approximately 24 units Black and 36 units White) was applied both externally and internally. This multi-purpose, non-sag, elastic sealant is based on a polyurethane-hybrid compound that is non-corrosive with low odour. It is VOC-, and solvent-free, may be sanded or over-painted, and like Sikaflex-552 AT, is fast-curing and ageing and weathering resistant. To match the colour of the wood, Sikaflex-11 FC??? Brown was used to seal around the stair case panels and the table basesTo match the colour of the wood, Sikaflex-11 FC Brown (approximately 24 units), was used to seal around the stair case panels and the table bases. This ready-to-use, moisture-curing, elastic joint sealant and multi-purpose adhesive based on polyurethane, provides bubble-free curing, good mechanical resistance and is ageing and weather resistant. Sikaflex-11 FC??? is non-corrosive, solvent-free and odourless with very low emission. After completion of the renovations, an additional hull was added onto the 200-seater La Vue to ensure a load-bearing capacity of 120 tons. Due to Durban's sub-tropical climate, this ultimate floating masterpiece will be available year-round for parties, speciality theme cruises and custom charters. It is most apt that La Vue, featuring climate-controlled decks, two bars, a dance floor and fine dining, has been sealed and bonded with Sika's 5-Star products.
